When the storms came

An illustrated online case study about the impacts of Storm Desmond in December 2015 on local social care services in Lancashire, as experienced first hand by Climate UK's Ailsa Gibson (who manages the CLASP programme). The story is published in a format called 'Shorthand Social' and highlights a range of impacts that had direct consequences for socially vulnerable people.

Climate UK helps to build resilience to such events by working with public service providers and local businesses to improve their emergency and business continuity plans.
